- Maman. Je ne sais pas quoi faire.
- Joue, mon chéri.
- Je ne sais pas à quoi jouer.
- Et ton cheval en bois ?
- J’ai déjà joué avec.
- Et tes déguisements ?
- Je n’ai pas envie de me déguiser. Je veux un petit frère.
- Pardon ?
- Je veux un petit frère ou une grande sœur.
- Tu veux jouer avec Suzanne ?
- Oui !
- Et bien tu sais quoi ? Elle vient manger avec nous dimanche.
TRANSLATION
- Mom. I don’t know what to do.
- Play, honey.
- I don’t what to play with.
- What about your wooden horse.
- I already played with it.
- And your costumes ?
- I don’t want us my costumes. I want a little brother.
- Excuse me ?
- I want a little brother or a big sister.
- Do you want to play with Suzanne ?

Chéri, chérie (masc. ou fém.) : dear, honey.
Cheval (masc.) : horse.
Bois (masc.) : wood.
En bois : wooden.
Déguiser : to dress up.
Déguisement (masc.) : costume.
Frère (masc.) : brother.
Sœur (fém.) : sister.
Just notice in this lesson that the word quoi can often be translated by English word what.
Quoi can be both an interrogative word and a relative pronoun.
We use it to refer to a thing or an idea. It’s always an object in the sentence.
Listen to the kid. Try to catch as much as you can before looking at the transcription and the translation.
